A Bold New Design For A Bold New Era

2018 has finally arrived, which can mean only one thing: new models from all of the world’s leading auto manufacturers are about to debut for excited drivers everywhere. Leading the pack is the brand new 2019 Acura RDX, something that Acura representatives claim will represent the single most extensive redesign of ANY of its vehicles in the past 10 years. Taking a look at some of the changes that are expected to be revealed confirms that this is absolutely something you’ll want to watch out for.

Performance Where It Counts

The most important changes to the new Acura RDX are all taking place where it matters the most: under the hood. The vehicle is expected to be powered by a 2.0 liter, turbo-four engine and could even see acceleration speeds of 0 to 60 mph in just 5.7 seconds using the eight-speed, twin-clutch automatic transmission.

Not much is currently known about the look of the vehicle, but one thing is for sure: it will wear a version of Acura’s diamond pentagon grille.

All About Integrated Dynamics

The 2019 Acura RDX is also expected to have a newly designed version of the company’s Integrated Dynamics System, also commonly referred to as the IDS for short. It’s a unique option that allows everything from throttle sensitivity, steering, transmission, HVAC and engine sounds to change depending on the mood of the driver. Moving from the standard “Economy” mode up to “Sport+,” for example, will noticeably change the way the vehicle sounds, drives and even feels while you’re on the road.

True 21st Century Technology

Rounding out the 2019 Acura RDX package is a new emphasis on automotive technology, putting complete control over nearly every aspect of the car back in the hands of drivers where it belongs. One of the most significant expected changes that will debut with the 2019 model is the elimination of the dual-screen layout that most Acura’s on the road have today. In its place will be the Precision Interior concept, featuring massive 12.3 inch screens (or 8.0 inch screens, depending on the trim level) for both an instrument cluster and an infotainment display.

An innovative new 360 degree camera system is also expected to debut with the 2019 Acura RDX, along with other new interior options like more color choices, heated front AND rear seats and much, much more.

The newly redesigned Acura RDX is set to make its public debut at the 2018 North American International Auto Show, taking place in Detroit, Michigan on January 15. All of us here at Naples Acura will certainly be watching that day with baited breath, eagerly awaiting the final reveal of just what surprises one of the world’s top auto manufacturers has in store for us all.
