Exterior
In addition to the many mechanical changes to the new version, revised styling, a new stand out grille adorned by the brand's signature LED lights, new fascias on the front and rear, as well as Jewel Eye LED taillights, and fresh wheel designs give it an exciting new attitude on the road and off. Add in its new silver and black interior, heated seats, and added HVAC vents and you've got a whole new take on an already winning design. Cargo space is a generous 26.1 cubic feet, with 76.9 available when the second-row seats are folded down.
Interior
Inside the cab, the dashboard looks simple and clean, with two screens that stand out in the center. It feels solid and well-built with high-quality materials. The front bucket seats are a nice highlight, as they are supportive and comfortable.
Technology
The 2.0-liter 4-Cylinder engine delivers 272 hp and 252 pound-feet of torque. It's received a great deal of fine tuning for quicker and more satisfactory responsiveness at every speed and rpm- creating a greatly improved overall driving experience in town. The majority of models competing with the RDX's currently feature a turbocharged inline-4, and when compared to these models, the new RDX's technology is noticeably stronger and responsive on the road. It's the ideal vehicle for cruising in town as it performs very well in stop-and-go driving conditions. Muscular torque rendered by its newly optimized engine means the RDX doesn't have to downshift in order to accelerate.
Performance
It delivers respectable performance for its class, and the six-speed automatic transmission is well adjusted. All in all, the RDX is a delivers smooth operation on any surface, isolating the occupants from uneven pavement, comfortably and quietly. If you're looking for a luxuriously equipped driving experience, backed up by an energetic throttle response, the RDX is hard to find fault with. Acura definitely knows a few things about engines- this 4-Cylinder runs smooth and pulls hard. At an idle, the tach is the only indicator that it?s still running.
While the new RDX is not the most sporty automobile in its class, it still delivers a smooth ride and impressive handling balance. Acura's all-wheel-drive model also bested its EPA mpg rating (22 city and 28 mpg highway).
All in all, the new RDX is a smooth performer for an SUV crossover, a supremely practical automobile with enough power and comfort to live up to the brand's ambitions motto.
Safety
This crossover has an impressive five-star safety rating from the NHTSA* and is considered a Top Safety Pick+ for 2020 by IIHS and was awarded a front crash prevention rating of 'Superior.' In low-speed auto-brake tests, the Collision Mitigation Braking System improved impact speed by 16 mph in high-speed auto-brake tests. The AcuraWatch intelligent safety features incorporate Adaptive Cruise Control, Collision Reduction Braking with a Forward Collision Warning system, Lane Assist, and a drift Warning.
